Rebuilding Credit Score

I have 4 credit cards that were charged off/closed because of some hard times from last year. What would be the best option for me to build my credit back up? Should I get a secured card such as opensky or just try to pay off those closed accounts? The accounts that were closed off the top of my head were chase(3k) discover(2.7k), capital one(1.3k), us bank(700). Will paying these off give me a second chance? Is there some sort of loan that I can take to pay them all at once and finish paying the loan off by the beginning of next year? Will having a low score give me less of chance for being approved for an apartment with a eviction on my record that was paid/settled in full. I just need some sort of life direction assistance at the age of 25. Thanks in advance.
