Concerns about care
Sorry this is so long.. My husband has been very very sick for almost a year now, we've seen his PCP probably 20 times before getting referrals. The pulmonologist said it's residuals from bronchitis he supposedly had 9 months ago and the derm told him to take shorter showers and the oncologist said it was probably just stress but ordered scans almost a month out. Then the next day he disappeared at work, his co-workers found him 2 hours later passed out in the drivers seat of a car he was supposed to be moving (thankfully on with the AC on) then the day after that he passed out in the pool. Again THANKFULLY in the shallow end and me and his sister where able to keep him above water. He was out for 8 hours. We brought him to the ER they did the scans immediately and said it's lymphoma but they can't do anything over the weekend so we should just go home and come back on Monday. We came back Monday and didn't even make it past triage they sent us home and said wait for a phone call that never came. So a few days after waiting for this phone call I looked up the oncology dept at that hospital and made an appointment with them. They saw us, told us it's stage 2 classical hodgkins and gave him a drawn out 2 month long timeline to see a few specialists and get more tests and told him to keep going to work????!! He's been in bed all month. I feel like no ones taking this seriously or considering his symptoms at all. Then we went to see ENT for the pre-biopsy and she tried to argue that he probably just has mono. I lost my mind when she said that. Is this normal for everyone to be on different pages? And looking at the scans and completely ignoring symptoms? And never admitting someone who can hardly stand long enough to shower? I feel like I'm losing my mind
