Should I return my HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless?

So I read some reviews online about gaming headsets and came to the conclusion that the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless would be a great pickup for a wireless gaming headset within my budget.

The cloud alphas sounds like I'm in a tunnel or a sewer, the sound is not crisp at all. Its not like completely unplayable but games like valorant and fortnite is just so difficult to determine where stuff is happening. Ive tried with and without the ngenuity software, doesnt help. Ive also tried updating my chipset drivers and the firmware.

Do I need to return the alphas or is there a fix to this?
