how actually functionally different is the 2024 elementals monk, it -feels- like a Sun soul monk on reading

those who play tested the 2024 elemental monk, how does the subclass stack against say the sun soul monk in use? I know the base class saw solid improvements, I'm just wondering about the subclass itself feels when compared to the older subclass of sun soul.
