Vueling Carry-On leniency

Hi, im travelling with vueling on a connection flight, i bought the ticket seperatly and the ticket doesnt come with carry-on (add on of carry-on basically costs the flight ticket itself), was just wondering if there's any workaround on this ? I dont travel alot but what if i just hid my carry on at the check in? Also heard from family members that they'd just let me have it without paying any extra fees.

Just wanted opinions on here as most people on here surely know way more than me lol
