How to start in stock market (GUIDE)

It is good to see people are getting interested in investing and I felt that people need guidance to search for material on investing So I am writing this thread as guide for stock market investment.

Disclaimer: I am not a guru by any stretch and a learner like all of you and just sharing my journey. Most of my links will be around Aswath Damodarn (Finance Professor who teaches at Unersity of NewYork) as I learnt from him a lot and his all material is available for free on his youtube channel. Even his all classes he teach of CFA.

Learning the process of picking stocks is time taking and finding a good stock to invest can take weeks to month of research so buckle up for the ride. You have to take it as a hobby that you do for enjoyment not as a boring task that you have to do just to make money.

BOOKS:

I know I know we do not have habit of book reading and whenever we hear books we run far from them but I think there are couple of books that are necessary for people who are serious on learning.

1- One up on Wall Street

2- The Little Book that still beats the market

3- The Little Book of Valuation

Accounting and Statistics:

You need to learn beginner level accounting and statistics so that you can read balance sheets, income statements, cash flows etc. In short you should be able to read financial statements of companies. These financial statements provide great deal of information regarding company future outlook.

These below youtube playlists are my favorite:

1- Accounting 101
