Can I bleach my hair 24 hours after using colour remover?

:txt: Question

I want to preface this by saying I'm aware I've made some bad choices and I hate myself for it too haha

I've been dying and bleaching my hair for a few years now (bleaching always more than 6 months or a year in between each time) and recently it's been bright red. It had been dyed black in January (my natural colour is a light brown) but I'd bleached it then. Since then I've just occasionally added more red but now it's really faded. I'm going through a weird femme pink phase rn so want to dye my hair pink especially as it's one of the few colours I've yet to do.

Yesterday (it is currently 7pm and it was around this time 24 hours ago) I used Colourless Hair Colour Remover Max Effect on my hair. It lightened my hair to a very pale red almost orange, but either didn't do enough or I messed up as the semi permanent pink hair dye I put it after it didn't stick at all, not even in the slightest.

I despise how it looks right now so much. I hate the colour and I quite frankly don't want to wait a week to bleach it but also I am now TERRIFIED of hair melting and burning or turning mushy or any of the things that could happen.

I know I wouldn't risk leaving it in too long as my hair is light enough now that it hopefully only needs like 20-30 minutes max, but still I'm not sure.

I'm definitely going to at least do a strand test on a bit of hair I don't mind cutting off if it goes wrong and if it does go wrong I'll obviously wait a week or more but if my hair seems fine would it be worth bleaching now?

I'm also just really low on money (after wasting money on dye that didn't work and colour remover I didn't even need at this point) so I'm not even sure if I could buy any expensive shampoos or conditioners to help strengthen my hair if I do need to wait a week or more so may have to wait even longer

Things to note:

The bleach powder I have is SalonPro White Bleach 250g and the créme developer is SalonPro 30v -9% Créme Peroxide. I've never used these before but the powder component I normally get is out of my current budget

Worst case scenario, I don't want to bleach my roots but had resigned myself to needing to cause I suck at being careful, but if it would at least help, I can only do my ends. My natural colour is showing quite a bit so I can just bleach some or all of what is faded red to avoid burning my scalp.

I honestly just wish I had never tried the colour remover and not being stupid and lazy and just gone straight to bleach

I'm happy to answer any questions!
