Dick Latvala Opinion on 1977

Over the years I have seen and heard all of the rave about Cornell being given the number one show / best show of all time / show is a mythical legend status time and time again. While I think the show is decent and far from being bad I would like to reference some posts from forums in the 90s that Dick Latvala participated in. In fact he was so passionate he listed out 16 shows he found to be better. They are 2/26, 2/27, 5/7, 5/9, 5/15, 5/17, 5/18, 5/21, 5/22, 9/3, 10/28, 10/29, 10/30, 11/4, 11/5, 11/6.

I will try to find the link. There's some really good stuff in there. I took notes on it all in my notebook and that's where I'm pulling this from.

I'm hoping this starts a nice discussion and maybe gets people to listen to some of these other shows. Some have been officially released, the others live in tapes.

For those who don't know, Dick was the original archivist for the dead and behind the Dicks Picks series and "knew the band better then themselves" quoted by Phil, something like that. Also if you didn't know, because of business politics Dicks Picks aren't all actually his picks. His actually picks from the series are marked with a hidden "Latvala!" in the art of the liner notes, usually.
