And several more non-catalyst exotics exist out there. Sure Divinity is used to help with some bosses like Ir-Yut or Taniks or it might be used by that one insane person who claims its the best weapon for stunning Overload champions in ANY activity. The last time I saw Anarchy used was for cheesing Kalli in The Last Wish raid for red-border farming. Xenophage sees usage in the 1st encounter of Deep Stone Crypt (sometimes, not all the time) and maybe for gambit if you are that kind of person. I love Wish-Ender but I would rather use Outbreak in this current episode due to the level of versatility pulse rifles can offer.

....You see where this is going.

When we take a look at the new Red Death, that weapon is extremely insane in terms of what level it can function at. Outbreak this season is absolutely overpowered for some end-game content, Buried Bloodline is a must-have for some builds because of Devour & Weaken. You get the idea, these weapons that have catalysts just floor those without them.

Is it because a catalyst would make them overpowered? I highly doubt it. Some exotics have a catalyst that does nothing but increase the weapon stats. And that is okay because they are already in a fantastic spot as it is. Sometimes their functionality is slightly tweaked and they get a minor adjustment that puts them into a more respectable position that doesn't require the player-base to consider that weapon as a "must use" item for certain activities. But those were early exotics. That kind of addition would more than likely not fly with the current state of exotics.

Is it because a catalyst would make them under-powered? This is more than likely the reason why they don't have one yet because if they got the same treatment, Bungie would basically be telling us to dig the grave for those weapons and that would be the end of it. Granted Bungie is looking episodes or expansions ahead and that makes complete sense. But I see these weapons collecting dust in my vault or even sitting in collections, never to be used because of what they cannot do.

I am asking for Bungie to at least seriously consider offering these exotics a catalyst or to review their current state so they can be brought up to par with their fellow shiny family members.

What are your thoughts? Any theories, must-haves or desires for a catalyst that has yet to be released? Do some of these weapons even deserve a catalyst?
