r/coheed's Song of the Day #75: 2's My Favorite 1
Here it is, folks! Our happy ending. I love this one! Sorry for the negative past two SOTD's; but here we go! I'm pretty glad they decided to have a happy song for the end... Fun fact; this is pretty much the only happy song in the entire discography! How fitting that it's the last one on our little escapade here! This song feels like it could have been on SSTB or IKS to me with the relatively simple chords and high pitched vocals.
I want this one at my wedding or something. Never thought I'd hear dance floor from a Coheed song.
The Fiction- Sirius interacts with the All Mother once more, and departs on a new mission with a new ship. Once again, he programs the coordinates from his former mission to the Keywork. The All Mother is confused -- or as confused as an artificial intelligence can be.
"You fought to withdraw from a location which has incited severe, quantifiable pain and nearly terminated the mission -- nearly terminated your life. Yet, you desire to set a course back to it. I am not equipped to comprehend human rationale.
Sirius, is this what love is?"
There is a pause.
"Yes."
He may not make it back home alive, but after everything that has happened, he does not care. His only desire, his prime mission, is to return to the Keywork to find Meri. He will help her ascend, as he did with Sentry, or he will die trying.
The Real- This is about Claudio saying Home isn't necessarily a place as much as it is a person. Claudio's wife is his home.
The Part- Someone here said this would be the perfect song to die to; complete bliss with a quiet, laid-to-rest ending. I love the overall sound; the happiness of the song.
Stay tuned, I've got something special planned for tomorrow!
