Are consumer, SMR drives good enough for raid 1?

I am currently using an acer veriton sff as a nas for archiving and the usual file transfer between pcs. I have one 2tb Seagate Barracuda storing the files and id setup a raid 1 with 2 other drives and ive noticed that nas drives are getting kinda expensive. So my question is are consumer grade drives like WD Blues or Barracudas good enough for my use case? Thank in advance
