How does seamless work with NG+

I have finished the DLC on New Journey and want to play seamless with a friend who hasn't played the DLC yet and hasn't done a new journey. If I join his world will the enemeis still have ng+ stats? Also would he gain the map pieces for dlc if I join his world?
