transcoding

I run plex on my computer and when i watch something on the plex library it plays great. However when i try to run something i have downloaded I get a terrible picture on my 86 inch tv. I also get this infomation from the screen.

transcode reason not enough bandwith for direct play of this item. required band with is 1524kbps only 1000kbps available.

I don't understand any of this can someone give me a clue on what I need to do to get my movies to direct play instead of transcoding. Thanks in advance.
