Do you think pet sitting is undervalued or is it just me?

I just had a convo with my cousin. He pet sat for someone for 4 days and got paid $250 and was so excited how generous they were. I don’t think it’s horrible for 1 low maintenance dog bc that’s just how the market is… but where they live these people have $$$$. Like go out and order $80 shots and then ride home in their tesla $$$$. I’m sitting here thinking in what other business would that EVER pass!? That’s a 24 hour service of on call housesitting AND petsitting. I feel like maybe apps like rover completely ruined the market offering lowball pricing now everyone just says “oh why are you charging 50 I can get someone in rover for 20” But it also undermines actual professionals. I’m not a professional but I have a lot of experience with dogs and even I would rather volunteer my time than watch someone’s dog for $50. And most of the time it is not easy or convenient..

TDLR I feel like the rates for petsitting services is super undervalued but I’m also open to others opinions. Am I the only one who thinks that?
