Add Some Color

I knew of a person
who was blue, but wasn't.
When mentioned; they packed
up and left-

who drew up the blinds
at mere glances of eyes;
felt the sting
of identity theft.

I knew of a person
who never could see
themselves in the eyes
of others.

They parted the crowd, but
only meant to step around;
to find where was safe to
show their colors.

I knew of a person
whose talents were drained
explaining their existence
to a world in demand.

Today, they say wisely,
not to give people sway;
if they wouldn't even
lend you a hand.

I know of a person,
a gifted visionary;
whose color transcends
the one given.

Orange-
a hue the world desperately needs.
Amazing;
a one-in-a-million.

Orange-
when the world has
only two bottles;
two bases; two starting positions.

Orange-
and this world, with
blues top to bottom,
needs some orange mixed in it.
