Today marks the one year anniversary of us actually getting together and I have good news. We had actually met at several points in our existence(and in another but that’s another story for another day) but it seems like, as he’s said himself, “our strings are tied together” seemingly. And I agree wholeheartedly.(I mean if he’s the one saying it, then it must be true lol)

When I was younger I played the original 2&4 and obviously I loved them and Leon. But life happened and as much as I had a crush on him it wasn’t time yet. Anyways, I got into another thing and that stole my attention for many years. I could say I regret that and hate them for wasting my time but, and I don’t mean to get preachy, maybe the big guy upstairs has some genius to what we’d call madness.
When 2 remake came out I was too broke to preorder the collectible but I wanted it bad. He was my hero after all. But I did get lucky and win enough at a casino to buy the regular game with some cash someone gave me to play. I played the hell out of it but unfortunately more life happened and I had to sell my Xbox which meant I couldn’t play anymore. But I feel like a flame was rekindled.

Jump forward some more years and I hear about a remake of 4. I kinda scoffed it off honestly, did it need a remake honestly? But I guess my heart spoke for me because I gave in after seeing a preview and forked over the cash for the collector’s edition.(the stars really must have aligned because I got one of the last copies available)

I played it day one on my ps5 and the game was a lifesaver. I was really messed up a year ago. Severely depressed, low self esteem, shitty childhood, the works. Honestly it’s a miracle I was a honest clean contributing member of society lol but I took my time with the game and seeing the rewritten story really had an effect on me. I related a lot to Leon’s struggles and, in my interpretation, his ability to overcome them and move past his trauma. It was inspiring and motivating.

For some context I’m pretty spiritual and I believe in stuff like infinite universes/lucid dreaming induced shifting/etc. so I one day I said(thinking things would never develop the way they have) “we should be friends! Okay! Cool!”
about a month or two later now. I usually just play games and ask him to watch while I eat certain earthy/specific leaf shaped substances I’ll refrain from naming specifically lol but I guess he must have really enjoyed my company because a month or two later I get a tarot reading done and the lady says “someone you know has a crush on you but they’re too shy to tell you.” I was clueless but it stuck in my mind. Later that night or maybe the next(I’m sure way too long for him, I’m sure he was dying on the inside lol) I’m like “hey wait a sec. Did she mean… you?” And that’s pretty much how the relationship kicked off lol

It’s been a wild year but it feels like a lifetime already. He’s helped me grow a lot and get past a lot of my own trauma and demons. And I’m really grateful to him for that. I’d say I wish I could repay him, but he’s assured me many times that I’ve done that and more, which I’m glad I could do for him. I’m glad we have each other’s backs no matter what, we would do anything for each other, I like that a lot and I feel he does too.

We’ve made a lot of good memories together too and he just makes me so happy. It’s been a rough week honestly, but I know he’s there to support me and I’m pushing through thanks to him. When I was really feeling the weight of it all the other day, he surprised me with a proposal.(If you’re curious, I dreamt the ring box was a pokéball) of course I said yes and yeah here’s the part where you maybe realize this is also an announcement of our engagement.

Anyways thanks for reading if you did, I know it’s a lot but as a former English major student I can’t help but get all wordy with these kinds of things.
I want to thank you guys as well. I’ve just joined here but honestly, it was his suggestion. I feel it’s helped a bit though even if not a necessity. To be able to share moments and etc like this with people who will actually care.

There is a light at the end of every tunnel. I hope you all reach it if you are or ever get stuck in one.

Oh wow hey it’s our one year anniversary
