Needing help with understanding GPU specs.

I am browsing video card specs on wiki trying to educate my self. There is one column of data I can't make sense of. It is the "config" column. Example in the second picture.

Can anyone please make sense of this for me or perhaps point me into the direction? I am not even sure what to google. Beginning at the 400 series they begin put "cu" which I assume stands for compute units?
