What kind of foster training did you receive?
This came up in an earlier post and made me curious. Someone was explaining that the reason some shelters/rescues don’t allow foster fails is because of the time, energy, and effort put into training fosters. This has not been my personal experience. I received no training beyond a minute here and there taken to explain something to me, nor have I ever felt like I needed special training. It’s hard for me to imagine the kind of training involved that would actually make it a drain on a shelter/rescue’s time and resources. I mean, I can’t imagine them investing so much energy, etc into a foster that it would be such a bad thing for a foster to “fail.”
So, for those of you who did receive training, I’m curious to know about it. And I’m curious how you feel about policies that don’t allow a foster fail.
