Low hair density for years and low iodine?

Could a lack of iodine cause a noticeable loss of density for years? I recently had a test that analyzes minerals and metals in my hair and the only thing out of range was an iodine deficiency. I wonder if this could be the cause of my progressive loss of density over the last few years... Has anyone experience with this deficiency?
