Can I get a secured loan to buy a houseboat?

Hey Reddit!

My mum is selling her houseboat and I would really like to buy it to live on but would not be able to get a mortgage as my partners credit rating isn’t good. Could I get/would it be a good idea to get a secured loan of 60k with the boat as collateral. Mum could sign the boat over to me first to make it easier. We make a combined income Of 65k and we could afford the repayments, I just don’t know how easy it is to be approved for one?
