New exam rule for N24? Anyone else hear about this?

Other

Following the whole incident with the M24 exam leaks, there is apparently a new rule implemented for our N24 exams and possibly onwards. I haven't seen anyone else mention it so far, since there aren't that many people taking the November exams anyways??

All students must be supervised in an exam for at least 2 hours. Meaning, if the exam is only 30 minutes long, you complete the exam and sit there and be supervised in silence for an extra hour and a half. The student body was informed about this new rule recently by our IB coordinator. Is there any chance that the IBO will go back on what they said about this? I don't find it fair at all that because there were people taking the M24 exams leaking exam questions that we get our precious time during exam season reduced because we have to sit in the room for a minimum of 2 hours being surveilled by the exam supervisor. My school said they are probably going to complain to the IBO in an official IB schools meeting taking place in Melbourne in October, but they also warned that IBO probably aren't going to take this back once they've announced it, and it's unfortunate that it has to affect the time we could otherwise use for studying. Is it still feasible to hope that they'll get rid of this rule? The students taking N24 had absolutely nothing to do with what happened earlier this year and having to sit in the exam room for a minimum of 2 hours just feels way too strict and not at all productive. There were a few other rules such as wiping of calculators after exams which I feel is an actually fair way of enforcing anti-cheating measures, not forcing the students to remain in the room after their exam to waste time.

Did anyone else taking the November exams also hear about this new rule from their IB coordinator, and how do you feel about it?
