Paint It Black

Poem

Paint it black. Don’t be fooled, By she that shines like a jewel. That shimmer is a sham, She’s not really golden, That’s just a fake tan. Paint it black, If you can.

Be aware, Of the glare. Paint it black, You’ll need more than one paint can. Don’t go cheap, That paint will run, Leak and seep, Within a few weeks. Paint for the weak. Pain is for the weak, We paint things black, And retreat. Whatever lets us sleep.

Through rose-coloured glasses, She’s gold with a tint. Paint her black, Before my heart sinks.
