Reddit is removing people's freedom of speech

There are problems with Reddit, one that stands out is the downvoting system and how it affects the forums. Because of the voting system, Reddit's forums have cemented solid narratives you must follow on each forum. If you go against the forum culture or have a different opinion from the majority, you're downvoted, and only a popular (and often hear/say) opinion will rise to the top.

What you end up with is very one-sided forums that aren't open to different opinions, and often toxic, and if you continue to hold a different opinion from the majority you end up shadow-banned from the forum, just for wanting to think differently from others.

Is that not depriving people of having a seperate opinion?
