Why hurry home?

I’m not going to jump into the hole I can’t get out of and ask what my wife does when I’m at work.. I am no good at being the mom or doing the housework.

I go to work anywhere from 8-10hrs a day 5 days a week and often work more when I get home to support the wife’s business since I’m usually the driver and muscles for moving heavy things.

So I get to my car and I’m on my way home when my phone starts blowing up with messages: You are going home early today right? I have class tonight and I agreed to bring food. I was thinking you could bbq for me. I only need to bring for 6 people.

Now I can’t even remember the last time I came home from work and dinner was ready or even had a decent homecoming greeting. It’s always as soon as I’m home getting bombarded with things to do or places we have to go (I’m also her chauffeur it seems) and I’m usually done either barely in time to get to sleep for work or later than I’d like to for getting to sleep.

Wondering and maybe I answer my own question with realizing it is my Littles that have me coming home.. otherwise I’d probably figure somewhere else to go to delay coming home like shopping or something. I can’t wait until I’ve been with my company long into get sent away for work elsewhere so I’ll get a company paid vacation!
