Laws on truck guns?

Hey yall, a friend of mine just said he bought a “truck gun.” It got me thinking and I want to get one too, but I can’t find much on the laws for it? I have my CC, but I was thinking of doing a AR pistol. Legal? Not? What’s everyone think? Thanks in advance.
