Son has abnormal red blood cells

Lab Questions

My 5 year old son has been having health issues since around December of 2023 and has always had a weak immune system. In December he started getting these strange episodes where he would get really pale and be shivering and exhausted. We couldn't get him to stay awake or eat anything and he would get fevers and headaches but no other symptoms (cough, sore throat, etc). His doctor kept blowing it off and the hospitals would tell me it was some kind of bacterial infection without running any tests and send us home. This continued every couple of weeks until late May when I finally had enough and took him to a different doctor who finally decided to run some blood tests, the results were extremely scary, his WBC and Sed Rate were through the roof along with a couple other things, we were told he could have an autoimmune disease, a blood disorder or cancer and were told to get him a brain MRI immediately. The hospital refused the MRI but did a chest xray due to a slight rasp in his chest and said he had pneumonia and that's what caused the results. He has been okay for the most part since then, aside from one episode in June and some headaches here and there but I decided to repeat his labs in order to get a sense of his base range, most things have gone down aside from his CRP but he has abnormal red blood cells and his doctor seems to think it's fine but I'm not convinced.

These are the abnormal results Manual basophil percent 4 RBC morphography abnormal Anisocytosis 1+ Macrocytosis 1+ Hypochromia 1+ Ovalocytes 1+ Stomatocytes 1+ Rouleaux 1+

Any advice or input is appreciated.
