482 Visa: Role Start Date and Salary Query (onshore)

Hi there,

My employer has agreed to sponsor me for a 482 visa and has completed the LMT test. They’re asking if I can start the new role before the nomination is approved.

From what I’ve read, overseas workers can’t begin a new role until the nomination is approved. However, in my case, this is a promotion with the same employer.

They also want to know if they can backdate my new salary to July 2024 when I start the role, or if it should match the contract date
