Planning to move back to pakistan to work from home
I EU Citizen, over 6 YOE as devops engineer, solid background in cloud computing planning to move back to pakistan to work as a freelancer after having a nice response with fiverr orders after signing up only for 2 months and don't have time to fullfil them because of full time activity. Reasons i am thinking about it are as following:
- after working in one of the biggest and best employers in EU life started getting boring. I still work there although it pays well.
Euros vs social Isolation make no sense anymore. Culturally, it feels "nothing here".
In Paki communities of professionals, majority feels the same but not everyone has circumstances to make such a decision. LGBTQ and a lot more things from daily life made life quite boring here. - Have visited pak for a few months per year for last years and alhamdulilla bills, loadshadding and networks downfalls are manageable in a proper way.
- Distance from parents and siblings getting more expensive than money i could make in last years.
My questions:
- How is your experience with freelancing with such profile (devops, cloud, linux) if you are based in pak?
- Which platforms you get/find most of the projects from?
- Is it feasible to make around 2K $ if you work around 170-180 hours a week?
- What are the highly in demand and mostly freelanced IT skills from pakistan to other countries?
- Could you help me join a community of freelancers on reddit?
I know how people are willing to leave pakistan because of several reasons but everybody has a different story.
Thank you for your opinions and comments in advance. Stay blessed and healthy.
