Did Elden Ring Help or Hurt Co-Op Game Play?
I pose this question to the community as I look on PSN and still see Mohg completion rate at around 38%. The boss you gotta beat to access the DLC. Granted a lot of players haven't even bought SOTE, but for whatever reason it made me think some players may still not be interested in "making the call".
I understand that Spirit Ashes may be the more logical choice during game play, but my thoughts are more on the sense of community and comradery. Being a Sunbro in the previous titles was a thing. "Praise the Sun" was a thing. "Jolly Cooperation" was a thing.
Looking at the stats for DS3, around 54% of players completed the "Warrior of Sunlight" Covenant requirements. That's a lotta medals. That's a lotta damn Jolly Cooperation!
Thing is dialing up a Sunbro was cool. It was about community and playing together and experiencing together. With ER, it feels like there's been a shift in temperament about dialing up a player to run a boss with. That somehow, alone is the only way. That Co-Op equals ... something different.
So my question is, "Did Elden Ring's approach to game play Help or Hurt Co-Op in your opinion?
