Vitruvian fan no longer running after firmware update?

As title suggests, I just upgraded to firmware 3.1.6 and when I boot up the machine, the fan spins for 1 second and then seems to stop. The machine is nearly silent.

At first I thought they maybe have changed the fan curve or something and expected it to ramp up when weights were loaded, but nothing.

I can’t imagine this thing can passively cool itself. Anyone have insight?
