Pediatric leisure activities

Can household chores be considered "leisure" for a child if it sparks joy? I work in a special purpose private school. A fourth grader likes to wash dishes, do laundry, wipe surfaces, and sweep. He smiles a lot when he does them, and is always eager to do them routinely. I am an OT working on a leisure pursuits goal, and I want him to participate in one leisure pursuit per week (may increase frequency). Can I include these chores as an option if he enjoys them?
