Women in the industry

In my second year of brewing & starting to feel like I’m just not cut out for the industry.

I’m used to men disrespecting me, not believing me about basic concepts & even correcting me (even when they’re wrong).

One thing I can’t get over is the “boys club”. Head brewers don’t take me seriously, productions brewers doubt my ability. I’m often just put on jobs nobody else wants to do. And ultimately I don’t feel very welcome or liked at my workplace.

I realise this may just be a workplace issue but I’ve seen it countless times in the industry - I don’t want to be searching my whole life for a brewery where I’m wanted & welcome help.

I’m tired. Considering just saving my body the long term pain and switching to an office job.

Any women in the industry have insights? Does it get better? Do I just give up now?
