I got my mom into $12,000 debt at a university I don’t even attend

After high school, my mom pushed me to go to university, but I was struggling with depression and social anxiety, and wasn’t ready. I enrolled in a course I didn’t want to do, feeling guilty because my mom had worked so hard to support me. Despite my struggles, my family ignored my pleas for help.

In my second year, when classes moved on-campus, I became overwhelmed and stopped attending classes altogether, spending all my time in my dorm. My mom still thinks I’m in school and owes the university $12,000, unaware that I’ve essentially dropped out. I feel terrible because she’s a great mom who deserves better. I’m now taking online courses and starting an e-commerce store, hoping to finally make her proud.
