Got a parking ticket

I am a Marine living on a navy base. I just got a ticket for parking in a spot that I have a pass for. I guess the MA just didn’t see the pass. How deep are these tickets. I am being told by my CoC that I should just toss it and not worry about it. I am inclined to listen to them considering that I am likely going to be moving within the month. I am just curious how deep it is for y’all. Do you actually show up to court? What happens if you don’t? It seems like base cops are universally narcs. They gotta stop putting depressed BUD/s drops as MAs and failed recon drops as Marine PMO. Too much self hatred I guess.
