How bad is neck dive?

QUESTION

So I recently got my first semi-hollowbody guitar, and the neck dive is pretty wild. Like, it's going from my natural position with the neck angled maybe 30 degrees above horizontal to below horizontal. It's cramping my playing style as my fretting hand needs to do way more work, or I've caught myself pinning it to my side with my other elbow. I've read that you can try things like a wider leather strap (I have a cheap nylon strap right now), or drilling a hole to relocate the strap button (that seems pretty extreme).

It's a very nice guitar, but I'm not sure if I should keep it with this being such an issue. I can return it if I choose. Thoughts? Thanks!
