Proud to Stand with the Brave Officers of CPD

As a veteran and long-time officer of the Chicago Police Department, I've seen firsthand the challenges our city faces. Tonight, our brave men and women in blue took decisive action against a known criminal on the LaFa block. The decision to use lethal force wasn't made lightly, but it was necessary. When criminals choose to flee, putting innocent lives at risk, we have to make split-second decisions to protect our community.

I fully support the actions taken by my fellow officers. These are dangerous times, and the only thing standing between our families and total chaos is the thin blue line. We can’t afford to hesitate or second-guess ourselves in the face of violent crime. The media and the usual suspects will try to spin this as another case of "police brutality," but let me tell you, that's far from the truth.

The fact is, LaFa has been terrorizing this city for far too long. They’ve had countless opportunities to change their ways, but they continue to choose violence and lawlessness.

When criminals like Swerve, a vicious and violent member of the LaFa gang, choose to flee, putting innocent lives at risk, we have to make split-second decisions to protect our community.
