Thoughts on season 2
First impressions of season 2.
In the first season the characters had depth and development. Some examples, Gene, on the surface seemed like a grumpy old man, but the more we see him he has this authority, fed up having to babysit medical students, the antics of Ash and Megan, then the scene with the picture of him and Gordon, with Gene reacting to it, moved and supressed emotional: "..one of the good ones..". Even James who was a d!ck in s1 does not go overboard, in the second season he throws a party with a projector showing animals porn..
In the second season Megan is shallow, cheats with a married woman then dumps right after. Then yells at Ash for not liking her horrible new girlfriend. Gene was reduced to this weirdo who when first seeing Gordon starts to flirt with him, and Gordon seems all weirded out. That was such a let down and in contrast to the serious topic of season 1.
The only constant was Colin and Lynelle, they were like the first season. Actually Colin was better, a triumph, Colin is just awesome!
I am going to watch season 2 again, and I bet after some viewings I will find parts that I become fond of. But if I try to define what was wrong with season 2 I would say - the writing. The script seems rushed, maybe because of the sucsess of the first season. Hope this show gets a new season because I love the characters. But I hope they give season 3 script more time to mature so we get a well written season.
