Need help finding a good solution to convert Front Panel Type C connector into a USB 2.0 connector

Question

So the backstory: I have an RGB controller that needs to be plugged into a USB 2.0 header. I have an ITX board with only one USB 2.0 header that worked fine for years, but then the original RGB controller crapped itself out, and it seems during that process, the header also was damaged with it. So while my warrantied controller seems to be working, I cannot detect it in software. I thought it was probably just the new controller being bad, but I connected an older Lighting Node Pro, and that too was not detected (nothing was connected to the node, but in my past experiences, that didn't matter to be detected in iCue), which makes me think the header is dead. Normally an ATX mb would have extra USB 2.0 headers but this ITX board only has the one. BUT I have an extra Front Panel Type C header, and I wanted to find the best solution to converting it to USB 2.0. There are tons of products like this, but I want to convert in the opposite direction. So far, the 2 solutions I can find are combining Type E to 20 pin USB and then using a USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 adapter OR a Type E to USB B adapter and a male USB to 9 pin USB adapter. Both don't seem like the most elegant solution, so I am hoping someone can help me find a true Type E to 9 pin USB header adapter, or if they do not exist, which is the best solution of the 2 shown.

So TLDR: what is the most elegant solution to trying to convert the Front Panel Type C header to a 9 pin USB 2.0 header?
