Silly questions before I pull the trigger on my first car

Buying a 2025 base model extended range (NE.V5 IONIQ 5 2WD 84KWH). First car. No idea how car sales work, in Perth.

• Is $3k AUD off of the retail a good enough deal or am I being taken for a ride?

• They will hold off from ordering until early Nov (even after taking a deposit) because I need the car in February, so they suggested to hold otherwise the date of registration have a chance to be 2024. On the other hand, I may get the car another month later in March or so. Is that a valid thing to do?

• I don't know if putting the car in the dealer's yard is a good idea, so would rather it come later than early — does that even make sense?
