Detached love

So, I’m exploring the concept of relationships with detached love that is free of ego, control, possessiveness and emotional ties. However this whole concept is very new and I’m just learning that it’s better than the “all consuming” type of dynamic I used to want. Is it even more rare to find 1:1 long term committed relationships while on the spiritual path? Is this why I find - and this is solely my observation and 1 data point which may be completely false- a trend of spiritual people mostly in open/ polyamorous connections? Is that just how the path unfolds? TY for your inputs!
