Arduino Giga R1, Portenta H7 or another board for TinyML?
Hi! I'm currently working on a project that consists in the simplification of a deep learning algorithm (identification of obstacles in an AGV's POV). My objective is to be able to run the algorithm in a microcontroller, and the idea of having two cores with different capabilities is nice, I could use the M7 core to run the simplified algorithm and the M4 core to take care of the AGV's speed measurements, control, sensors, etc. I've been doing some research on both boards and as far as I can tell, the only key differences between them are:
1.- Higher voltage support (Giga)
2.- Designed for industrial use (H7)
3.- More readily available GPIOs (Giga)
4.- WiFi and BT (Giga)
5.- Frickinn price maann
But these features are irrelevant for my project (except the last one lol), also, as far as I can tell (please correct me if I'm wrong), their computing power is exactly the same, same processors and same amount of RAM (all types).
I'm relatively new to microcontrollers and I want to buy a board that has capabilites that exceed my current project's needs and that can handle more intense tasks for future projects. Are these boards a good idea or would you recommend others? I've also looked at other boards, such as the Adafruit Metro M7, but RAM might be an issue with these micros. I'm not considering Raspberry boards that have a built in OS, as I don't have the time (deadline coming soon) to learn how to deal with Linux shenanigans. I know it might be a weird question, but school is kinda holding me against the ropes and I want to get a board to start working with my algorithms asap.
Thanks in advance!
if redaction seems a little off it's cause i n g l e s is not my first language
