Cannot pause or save. (possible spoilers)

its been about two hours and cant pause or save, I have driven to both ends of the map and nothing.

I just want to save and get off the game without loosing two hours.

last thing i did before saves stopped was stole the alien pressure washer and accidentally threw it into inaccessible room in bunker.
