Hiii guys!! I’m new to this subreddit, and am having a hair crisis atm.

For context: I have pretty thick, curly hair which is naturally strawberry blonde!
About 2.5 years ago I dyed it from red to dark brown and was topping that dark brown up until January of this year. In April I had quite a bit of virgin regrowth and my hairdresser added highlights. She did this after telling me she was going to do a colour removal and the result wasn’t really what I had hoped for (pic one). I was hoping to get back to a stage that I could put the copper dye over my hair and have it blend back out to my natural without the roots being so noticeable. I thought a bleach bath would of been a good idea as I didn’t need to lift it to blonde as I wanted it to be red/copper.

Last week I went to a new salon and she told me that if I just dyed it copper with a high volume tint, that after two goes my hair should be lifted to a copper. I didn’t think this sounded right as I’m not sure that dark dye would be lifted by colour alone? But I’m not a professional and I have confrontation issues so I said yeah! Now it’s a week later and my roots are orange and the hair looks patchy and just vile. I can’t add another pic here for some reason so I’ll add it in the comments!

I hate it so much but I don’t want to bleach my whole head as there are already so many colours in it. My partner and I were thinking of painstakingly trying to separate the highlights out and do a bleach wash on the darker hair (ignoring the roots, as they are also light) but I have no idea if this is a good idea. The hairdresser last week said that my hair was really healthy and I have dyed my hair a lot as a teenager and never had issues with breakage. My hair is dry but that’s just its natural texture!

Any advice would be appreciated as my self confidence is so low🤪🤪😩

please help I’m having a crisis lol
