Minoxidil to grow new hair?

I've already asked about this on here and gotten a no for an answer, but after looking into it a bit more, i've found a guy that had a very bad hairline (genetically; he was 20-something years old) and managed to fix it using minoxidil and a derma roller. i'm 17M and wondering if i could do the same.
