Noob question

So I'm fairly new to coin collecting, and I recently got a Canadian penny case. Some of the dates have letters beside them, like 1947M, 1953SS, 2003PD, 2006LS, 2006LZ, 2007S, and 2007Z. I was wondering if anyone could explain these letters. Thanks!
