Whispers
While my blood pounds
in my temples,
while my soul shatters
to the winds,
while my breath flickers
and fades,
I perish.
Long have I endured
my scars, my scars
which went unheard.
Long have they been silent
while crimson screams swore
promises of vengeance.
Silky petals thrived
in festering wounds.
I helplessly watch
how tendrils and thorns feast
on my flesh, on my veins.
Will the world burn
if I dare to open my mouth,
to unclasp my heart?
Pandora's blade fondles
my skin, aflame.
And I savour
my retribution, nigh.
And I do not find solace,
and I weep.
And at last, silence.
And at last, nothing.
