Question About First Gun

Hello everyone, just turned 21, got my FOID and am looking for a first handgun, something I will eventually conceal carry and I just want an all round comfortable, accurate, compact, reliable handgun. Thinking smith & wesson m&p shield plus right now, yall think thats a good choice or have any better suggestions? Thanks in advance
