Is CHF 11,300 for a 1985 VW Passat a reasonable deal for daily driving and weekend trips to the Alps?
Hey everyone,
I stumbled across this VW PASSAT 32B on AutoScout, and the seller is asking for CHF 11,300. Yes, you read that right—eleven thousand three hundred Swiss Francs for a car that's almost old enough to run for public office.
The seller describes it as a "classic," but I’m wondering if that’s just a polite way of saying "vintage money pit." My main question is: could this relic from the '80s actually be practical for daily commuting and the occasional weekend trip to the Alps?
On one hand, I love the idea of cruising around in a piece of automotive history. On the other hand, I’m not sure I want to be overtaken by cyclists every time the road starts to incline.
So, what do you think? Is it worth considering, or should I just look for something a little less... "classic"? Would love to hear your thoughts!
