[M4FGM] Magical Card World (low limits, heavy worldbuilding, discord)

Cards. These cards are known by many different names throughout the multiverse, but to keep it simple most people who know of them just refer to them as cards. After all, these cards are above and beyond any other types of “cards.” Playing cards, tarot cards, collectible trading cards. None of those compare to the importance of these cards.
Scattered across an infinite number of worlds, these cards are the crystallization of magic itself. For the most part, they take the form of just about any spell that can be imagined. Controlling the elements, conjuring items, summoning creatures from the mundane to the divine, curing wounds and illnesses, inflicting curses, raising the dead, transportation between realms, manipulating the laws of physics itself. There’s no limit to what these cards can do.
Over time, societies have found ways to incorporate these cards into their lives. Through the use of magic, anything can become a card. The entirety of someone’s personal belongings can all be contained within cards, shops sell their entire inventory in card form, merchants travel around selling all sorts of rare and exotic cards, mages contain their magic inside cards rather than scrolls and tomes. Since cards are tethered to their owner’s soul, people never have to worry about losing or misplacing their cards, since the owner can just re-materialize their cards in their hand at will. These cards can be used in all sorts of ways, from improving daily life to waging magical wars. Magical combat isn’t uncommon with these cards. In fact, it’s so common that dueling with cards has become a popular sport, despite the potential dangers it could entail.
Like many others, I want to become a champion duelist. However, I still haven’t obtained any cards yet, so that dream is currently out of reach. People are able to awaken their ability to use magic once they’ve reached adulthood with most people materializing their first card shortly after turning 18. But I’m 19 now and I’m still cardless. This could be troublesome for me. I’m about to start university soon. If I don’t awaken my latent magical abilities soon, then I won’t be able to enroll in any of the magic classes. Hopefully I can materialize my first card before the semester begins.
Hello, DPP! I'm looking for a creative and lewd cis-female partner who would be interested in GMing a long term fantasy RP that revolves around magical cards. This will likely require us to do a ton of worldbuilding, so I'm hoping my partner loves worldbuilding as much as I do. A partner who’s comfortable including game elements in this RP would be preferable, as I think those would be fitting to include, especially during card duels. I’d also like my partner to have few limits, as I can envision a whole lot of crazy and taboo kinks popping up in this magical world.
The Cards
I wanted to leave the function of these cards somewhat vague. Rather than deciding how they work upfront, I think it would be best to decide on those rules together after we’ve picked out a story. That way, the cards will operate in a way that works more smoothly with whatever sort of story we play out. Do the cards have a cooldown timer after being used? A mana cost? Any other limits? I’d like to discuss things like that.
I do have some of my own ideas in mind already that we can build off, if you’d like. What I’m thinking is that there are different types of cards (which could be color coded). Creature/familiar cards, item cards, action cards, enhancement cards, etc. It could also be neat if everyone’s first card is a “soul card” of themselves.
Setting and Plot
I see this setting being based on a version of Earth that’s been molded by a culture that has deeply integrated these magical cards into everyday use. Adults all have access to these magical cards and it’s practically impossible to get by in life without using them. My character will be attending a magical university with dreams of being a magical duelist, though he still needs to awaken his own magical potential. How this happens can be discussed, so feel free to offer any suggestions on how you’d like to get the plot rolling.
Aside from the university setting and dueling plot, I’m open to all sorts of other plots we can explore in this setting, as well. Maybe my character finally awakens his magical abilities by bonding his soul with some sort of (sexy) magical spirit. Maybe we give my character an otherwise mundane job that’s now much more interesting when magic is involved? Maybe my character encounters some sort of villainous group that’s using cursed cards to cause trouble. Maybe my character gets some kind of special “chosen one” magic that will need to be used to prevent some sort of calamity. I had approached this prompt from a light hearted perspective, but I’m not opposed to this story going in darker directions, as long as it isn’t too overly grimdark.
Gameplay
I can see all sorts of RPG elements working well with this plot, especially when it comes to dueling. Dice rolls, stats, leveling, and other sexy numbers. I see these duels playing out more like traditional TTRPG combat rather than some sort of trading card game duel, so I don’t expect us to come up with complex rules on how the duels work. No deck building or card drawing, since the duelists will basically have access to all of their cards already.
I think it would be fun to give the duels an ante rule. Duelists can wager prizes for the winner to claim, which could be anything from one of their cards to sexual prizes.
Smut
Now, I know the initial concept doesn't exactly scream "smut!" but I do want to make it clear that I'm looking for this RP to be at least 50/50 in terms of story/smut. I think it would be fun to use these cards to end up in all kinds of lewd situations, plus some cards can straight up be sexual in nature to begin with. While I don’t normally like to police my partners’ kinks, in this case I do think it would be better to have a partner who doesn’t have many limits. These cards can do anything, after all. I would like this RP to get a little crazy and include a variety of extreme and taboo kinks. Emphasis on “little,” since I do still have my own limits.
Fandom Options
This isn’t a requirement, but since these cards can contain magic and beings from other worlds, we could mix in some fandom-themed cards into this RP. Cards could have all sorts of fandom powers and weapons. Or they could summon fandom characters as familiars. Alternatively, we can populate our original setting with AU versions of fandoms characters and explore what sort of cards they’d use. If any of that interests you, then please let me know what fandoms you’d like to use. Shared interests is important when it comes to fandoms, so I should mention I'm mostly interested in anime and game fandoms.
I have a few scenarios in mind for this RP. If you message me, feel free to suggest any changes to these scenarios or pitch your own plot ideas.
Magical Earth
Magic has flourished on Earth after the general population gained access to cards. Society as a whole has quickly adapted to using cards. Now just about every adult has a license to use magic.
I'll play as someone who recently obtained his magic license and got accepted into a dueling university. For the most part, I see this plot as a sort of slice of life modern fantasy (maybe with some sci-fi mixed in as well), though I don't mind adding an actual story to this scenario.
Isekai'd to the Card World
In this scenario, I'll play as a character who ends up being transported somehow to a magical card world. In this world, I'll end up on an adventure of some sort, collecting various cards throughout the RP. I imagine this RP being more story heavy than the previous scenario, but I would still appreciate some slice of life moments here and there. For this scenario, I think it would be fun if my character isn't the only one who gets isekai'd from our world, so that way we can explore a variety of reactions to being transported to a strange magical world.
Interdimensional Dueling Tournament
In this scenario, I'll play as a duelist who enters a grand tournament for card-wielding mages across the multiverse. We can work out together how this tournament works and why I'm competing. I picture the tournament being a sort of battle royale across a specific location (or multiple areas), though we can discuss something different. Given the multiverse angle to this scenario, I imagine we'll be able to include all sorts of unique challengers in this tournament.
