Am I Failing My Child?
I have been experiencing a lot of guilt around socializing and I want to know if I am being too hard on myself or if I should be doing better. Apologies for formatting, I am on mobile.
I have two kids, a 1 year old and a 3 year old. The focus here is mainly on the 3 year old though. We can’t afford to put her into preschool and it’s not required here. I am not concerned about her learning, she is already ahead of what she needs to know for her age. My fear is that I am not giving her enough socialization. We try to go to story time at our local library once a week, but sometimes we miss it due to appointments and such. I try to go to the park at least a few times a week, but we often play at home. Outside of that, most socializing we do is during errands.
I worry that I am failing my child by not setting up more opportunities for her to play with peers. I guess I just want to hear a perspective other than my own.
